Cristyan Coello
Projects Leader
Cristyan has dealt with many difficult things in life and has maintained a positive attitude and strong faith in the Lord. He has also worked for Compassion for thirteen years teaching and tutoring at-risk teenagers in various communities. His heart for youth extends to his nephew who he mentors. We are grateful for Cristyan's many talents - including directing our sewing program and helping with our construction projects. When he's not working, he is an avid trail biker and enjoys working out.
Scarlett Martinez
Sewing Program Leader
Scarlett serves with several ministries in Honduras - we are grateful she has time to serve with Second Wind! She has also enjoyed working as a host and translator by visiting with families and churches who partner with Compassion International. Known for her deep heart for people and gift of healing, Scarlett thinks our sewing program has stretched her. She has done an amazing job of caring for the women in our program by listening to them and reading the Bible with them.
Carlos Garcia
Electrical Teacher
Carlos's humility and desire to serve are two of his strongest traits. He is an electrician by trade and has served as a coordinator for construction brigades. Active in his church's men's ministry, he is also a local community leader by advocating for their needs such as infrastructure improvements. He loves to read and run in his spare time. Grateful for the opportunity to serve his country, he wants to further Second Wind's mission to improve the quality of life of Hondurans
Armando Aguilar
Artisan Shop and Cafe Manager
Armando is also an optometrist in addition to being an amazingly talented wood carver. We feature Armando and his friends' artisan work on our Etsy site. He deeply loves God, his family, and his country. He truly believes that providing jobs for Hondurans gives them a reason to stay instead of migrating to other countries. For this reason, Armando enjoys sharing his skills with others.

John has been a flight test engineer for various aerospace companies for twenty years. His job as a flight crew member together with flight test pilots involves developing and executing test procedures on new design aircraft and analyzing the data that these flights produce. John has provided strategic direction, insight, and vision into some fairly complex problems we have faced during the past three years.
Karen Henze
Treasurer
Karen has served on several medical mission teams to Honduras and is a cardiac sonographer. With a deep heart to serve other people and God, Karen brings a lot of passion to the board and a desire to help in any way she possibly can. Known for her uncanny ability for enjoying details on a spreadsheet and in life, she is a perfect treasurer for Second Wind. In her spare time, she enjoys serving in her church, her community, and her wide network of friends. Karen lives with her family in Kansas City.
Dave Gilbert

Dave has spent most of his life talking and writing. He spent several years as an announcer and talk show host on political and sports topics at a radio network in Washington DC.
